New attempts at ..well... absorbing reflections from the low ceiling (and diffusing the very highest frequencies I suppose). This is not exactly the type of treatment I want, but it works for experimenting.I also don't think this is quite the same as...

I've been thinking; rather than placing the mid-bass horns off to the sides or above the rest of the horns as in the first two images below (a CAD model of the horns in my new place); a plan which implies accepting imperfect time alignment...Ori...

And here is an image showing the driver in the mounting plate (still unable to upload the images; can only include them as attachments. Also, I have to do this one image per post).

I just came back from Stereophile Show in NYC. A couple of observations. Haniwa's FPIC-100 DSP seems to be nothing but a typical DSP with digital crossover/equalizer/delay with auto feedback through a microphone set at the liste...

It's hard to predict how the anomaly will sound. Sort of like a dynamic bias shift in the tube. That's why I think IMD. The shift moves around at LF rates, so the HF reproduction can fall on any number of load lines (within loop are...

Sure, I heard, they always sound quite awful and they are an illustration of a wishful but wrong thinking. First of all their tweeter are curved (!!!) into…. something that could be only theoretically called a horn. What was in the mind of a des...

Interesting, Ulf.
If your horn runs up-to 500-700Hz (somewhere like mine) then what kind “beaming” you meant? Frankly speaking I did not detect any beaming at those frequencies, quite in contrary – it is very difficult to make anything to beam at un...
